Gooey Circus Animal Treats Recipe

Gooey Circus Animal Treats Recipe
Everybody loves circus animal cookies, the pink and white bite-sized frosted animal crackers with colored sprinkles. Most of us also love gooey marshmallow treats. These Gooey Circus Animal Treats are a fun combination of the two. They take only 10-15 minutes to put together and are an easy, colorful treat to serve at a birthday party, or just to have around for snacking. There are only three ingredients in these chewy bars: packaged Circus Animal Cookies, marshmallows, and butter. What could be easier?
These chewy bars keep for several days when stored in an airtight container. If you’re ambitious, you can sprinkle the top with additional rainbow sprinkles. I have found that you can get sprinkles in the bulk foods aisle in many mainstream grocery stores. The bulk sprinkles are much cheaper than those that come in jars, and you can buy as many as you need. They can be added to cakes, and used to decorate cookies or other frosted desserts.

1 11 oz. package Circus Animal Cookies such as Mother's
1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles

1 10 oz. package marshmallows
1/4 cup butter

  1. Spray an 8" x 8" glass baking dish with non-stick spray; set aside.
  2. Coarsely crush the cookies. Mix them with the sprinkles.
  3. Spray a large microwave safe bowl with non-stick spray. Add the marshmallows and butter. Microwave until melted, stirring after 1 minute. This takes 1 1/2 to 2 minutes depending on your microwave. Stir well to incorporate the butter.
  4. Add the cookie mixture and stir until all of the cookies are coated.
  5. Press into the prepared pan and let sit until set. Cut into 16 squares.
