Four Weddings And A Funeral
Charles believes he’s found the woman of his dreams when he happens to encounter Carrie at a friend’s wedding. Over the course of four weddings (one of Carrie’s and one of Charles’) and the funeral of a close friend, will the two be able to realize they’re meant for each other? Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Four Weddings and a Funeral”.
· At the second wedding, after Charles watches Carrie from the window, the bride and groom burst in. Charles quietly exits the room and runs into Henrietta in the hallway. She’s holding onto him and in the side view, as the groom opens the door, her left hand is on Charles’ right cheek with her right hand on his back, near his neck. The groom starts to shut the door and her right hand moves to the ack of Charles’ head, into his hair. It cuts to a close-up (rear view of Charles) and Henrietta’s left hand is on the back of his head and her right hand is on his back.
· Charles walks into the shop where Carrie and Hamish are registered for their wedding gifts. He picks up the catalogue and is looking through it when he asks about “gifts in the fifty pound mark”. Charles puts the catalogue on the desk and steps toward the pygmie warrior statue. It cuts to a close-up of the woman at the desk and then back to Charles. He’s still holding the catalogue and places it on the desk again just before he bumps into Carrie.
· After trying to pick out a wedding dress, Charles and Carrie run to meet David. In the wider view, when he runs up to David, Charles’ shirt is unbuttoned to mid chest. Charles is signing “I’m sorry” and his shirt is buttoned more in the close-up as he’s introducing them.
· CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! Carrie visits Charles’ home after his marriage to Henrietta is called off. She’s standing in the rain, soaking wet while Charles is dry standing outside his door. She starts to leave and he runs after her. He stops her and says it’s his fault and Charles’ hair and shirt are soaked.
“Four Weddings and a Funeral” (1994) stars Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell, Simon Callow, John Hannah, Kristin Scott Thomas, James Fleet, David Bower and Charlotte Coleman. It runs 117 minutes and is rated R for language, and for some sexuality.
