If you’re on the Gluten-Free Bandwagon, it’s always nice to not only read up on new information, but also to add good new recipes to your repertoire. The 30-Minute Gluten-Free Cookbook: 100+ Quick and Simple Recipes For Every Day by Jan Withington, has dozens of mouthwatering recipes that can be served to the whole family and be safe for those who need their food to be gluten-free. This is not a baking cookbook, so the special ingredients needed are those that most of us already have on our shelves, such as gluten-free soy sauce, gluten-free Worcestershire sauce, and gluten-free spice blends. Several of the recipes call for a small amount of gluten-free flour and gluten-free baking powder, too, which is in every grocery store nowadays.

The author has taken regular mainstream recipes that everyone likes and changed them a little so that they can be eaten by everyone and contain no gluten. She includes several stir-fries that turned out delicious. Withington gives cooks dozens of options for different meats and poultry, including ground turkey and chicken, lamb chops, pork, chicken breasts and chicken tenders, as well as seafood such as salmon and tilapia. There is also a chapter with vegetarian and vegan dishes which are quite tempting, even to carnivores. The recipes are easy-to-follow and most have minimal ingredients. Withington has also included some basic spice blends and sauces.

Although there are pancakes, waffles, and other gluten-free breads and desserts, they don’t call for the hard-to-find gluten-free ingredients. Every recipe has turned out well, so far. Unfortunately, there aren’t many photographs; most cooks would like more. However the photographs that are included are beautiful and mouthwatering.

If you must cook gluten-free, this cookbook has enough recipes to keep everyone happy.
